Nephrology

Expert kidney care, advanced diagnostics, personalized treatment, and compassionate nephrology services.

Hospital

At our hospital, the Department of Nephrology is dedicated to delivering exceptional care for patients with kidney-related diseases. With a multidisciplinary team of highly experienced nephrologists, trained dialysis staff, and state-of-the-art infrastructure, we provide comprehensive kidney care ranging from early detection and preventive strategies to advanced treatment modalities, including dialysis and kidney transplantation.

Our nephrology unit is equipped to manage all forms of kidney disease, whether acute or chronic, and supports patients through every stage of their treatment journey. From common conditions such as urinary tract infections and kidney stones to complex procedures like renal biopsies and kidney transplants, our department ensures that every patient receives personalized and evidence-based care.

Treatments Available:

Kidney Care & Transplant

Hemodialysis including PIRRT (Prolonged Intermittent Renal Replacement Therapy)
We provide both conventional hemodialysis and advanced dialysis options like PIRRT, a therapy particularly suited for critically ill patients in intensive care settings. PIRRT offers a balance between continuous and intermittent dialysis, making it effective and better tolerated by hemodynamically unstable patients. Our dialysis units operate under strict protocols with infection control measures to ensure safety and efficacy.

Peritoneal Dialysis
For patients who require a home-based dialysis option, we offer comprehensive training and support for peritoneal dialysis. This method uses the patient’s own peritoneal membrane for the exchange of waste products and fluids, offering greater independence and flexibility. Our nephrology team closely monitors these patients through routine follow-ups and teleconsultation support.

Kidney Transplantation
Our kidney transplant program is one of the cornerstones of the nephrology department. With a dedicated transplant team comprising nephrologists, urologists, transplant surgeons, immunologists, and support staff, we provide end-to-end care — from donor screening to post-transplant management. We adhere to national and international transplant guidelines and emphasize stringent evaluation to ensure the best possible outcomes.

Kidney Biopsy
As a crucial diagnostic tool, kidney biopsy helps us evaluate the underlying pathology of kidney diseases. Performed under ultrasound guidance, this minimally invasive procedure aids in tailoring specific treatment strategies for glomerular and other renal disorders.

Conservative Management of Kidney Conditions

Not all kidney-related conditions require invasive procedures or surgery. Our department specializes in conservative, medical management for a wide range of renal and urological disorders.

Kidney Stone Disease
We manage kidney stones using both medical and non-invasive approaches, focusing on stone dissolution, prevention of recurrence, and pain management. Patients are also educated on dietary and lifestyle modifications to reduce the risk of stone formation.

Prostate Disease
Nephrologists work closely with urologists in diagnosing and managing prostate conditions that impact urinary function and kidney health, including benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) and prostatitis.

Acute Renal Failure (Acute Kidney Injury)
Prompt diagnosis and timely intervention are crucial in managing acute kidney injury (AKI). Our team is equipped to provide immediate and intensive care support, including renal replacement therapy when necessary, to prevent permanent damage.

Chronic Renal Failure (Chronic Kidney Disease - CKD)
For patients living with CKD, we offer ongoing management strategies aimed at slowing disease progression, managing symptoms, and improving quality of life. Nutritional counseling, medication management, and regular monitoring are core components of our CKD care program.

Nephrotic Syndrome
This condition, characterized by high levels of protein in the urine and swelling, is managed through a combination of immunosuppressive therapy, dietary adjustments, and supportive care. We emphasize the importance of early diagnosis and patient education.

Diabetic Nephropathy
As one of the leading causes of kidney failure, diabetic nephropathy requires a coordinated approach involving endocrinologists and nephrologists. Our department provides integrated care to manage blood sugar levels, blood pressure, and proteinuria to delay disease progression.

Hypertension
High blood pressure is both a cause and a consequence of kidney disease. Our specialists offer comprehensive hypertension management, using lifestyle interventions and pharmacologic therapy tailored to each patient’s needs.

Electrolyte Imbalance
Kidney dysfunction often leads to disturbances in the body's electrolyte balance. We provide thorough evaluation and treatment for conditions such as hyperkalemia, hyponatremia, and metabolic acidosis to restore balance and prevent complications.

Glomerular Disease
Our nephrologists are experts in diagnosing and treating a range of glomerular disorders, including glomerulonephritis and lupus nephritis. Diagnosis often involves renal biopsy and immunological testing, followed by personalized treatment plans involving immunosuppressive therapy.

Urinary Tract Infection (UTI)
Both simple and recurrent UTIs are managed with appropriate antimicrobial therapy and investigations to rule out underlying structural or functional abnormalities. For patients with recurrent infections, preventive strategies and lifestyle counseling are emphasized.

Patient-Centered Care

At the heart of our nephrology department is a commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care. We understand that living with kidney disease can be challenging, and we strive to support our patients physically, emotionally, and socially. From initial diagnosis to long-term management and rehabilitation, our team is with you every step of the way.

Whether you are managing a chronic condition, facing a sudden illness, or preparing for a transplant, our Nephrology Department is dedicated to delivering the highest standard of care — with a focus on quality, safety, and outcomes.
